Here at Black tie Wedding Invitations, we’re all for having things personalised.
Introducing Figgie Shoes.
Founder and artist, Deborah Thomson, started the business after receiving a request from a bride, for painted shoes symbolising all things sentimental and meaningful in her relationship with her fiance, that she could wear on her wedding day. The rest as they say, is history.

We love these funky shoes! Lucky for you, Canadian based Figgie Shoes ship worldwide!
And here it is… The gown!
It’s quite a trend to get a photograph of the wedding dress as it awaits the bride, gracefully suspended from the ceiling, draping a tree or even a hooked upon a chandelier if you’re lucky enough to have one hanging around. And why not? You’ve spent enough money on it and you’re only going to wear it once, so make sure you capture the detail in every which way!

Save the Date cards have become increasingly popular in recent times. Their primary objective is to announce the date and location of your wedding, to ensure guests keep that date free from other commitments on their calendars. They are especially useful for out-of-town guests who have to arrange travel and accommodation in order to attend.
Save the date cards are normally sent out six months before the wedding with the invitations following around 8 weeks prior to the big day. They are not a substitute for a wedding invitation. Everyone who receives a Save the Date card, should by etiquette receive a wedding invitation. When planning your invitations, you may of course increase the size of the guest list and are not limited by the number of save the date cards posted.
The style of save the date card may be designed to compliment the rest of your stationery to follow, or it can capture your imagination and personalities and be far less formal.

We create many save the date cards to match our invitation range or to custom specifications. For more information, please Contact Us.
31st of March 2012 was the date and the glorious Sails on the Bay, overlooking Port Phillip Bay was the venue for Alice and Christopher’s beautiful black and white themed wedding.
We were honoured to create their wedding stationery, which included invitations, reply and directions cards, service booklets, menus, seating chart and guest book, all in the elegant Jewel design with custom black satin ribbon. The ribbon and round diamante buckle featured heavily on the stationery, favours and wedding cake, achieving a sophisticated, elegant and seamless theme.
The beautiful images Alice and Christopher have shared, were captured by the talents of Tania Savage Photography.
We created these pretty persanalised boxes to act as both a wedding favour and place setting for their guests.
Alice’s pretty crystal adorned shoes came from Alan Pinkus, and the stunning rose bouquets were designed by Debbie O’neill. Her beautiful wedding and engagement rings are Australian Diamond Company designs.
Responsible for the girls’ hair styling and makeup on the day was friend and hairdresser Tash Freeman from Reel Hairdressing in Ringwood.
Both the ceremony and the reception were held at the same venue overlooking Elwood beach. The bride, groom and groomsmen were dressed by Ferrari Formal & Bridal, and the classic black bridesmaid gowns were from Myer.
The service booklet we created for the ceremony was similarly decorated with black satin bow through large diamante buckle, and included the beautiful inscription “To the world you are one person, but to one person you are the world”, which so summarises the genuine and deep union shared by these two individuals.
The catering talents of Sails on the Bay did not stop with the fabulous meal. They also created the striking wedding cake which featured chocolate mud top and bottom tiers, with white chocolate and raspberry centre, and was adorned with the same black satin ribbon and diamante centred bow used on the invitations.
The talented mother-of-the-bride made the gorgeous little two tone dress for Alice’s little niece, Charlotte.

Also featuring the satin ribbon and diamante buckle, the guest book gave everyone an opportunity to jot down their thoughts and well wishes, acting as a lovely keepsake for Alice and Christopher. With almost 100 guests, the seating chart was a valuable and classy addition to the room.

The delicious three course meal and wine selection was elegantly presented in our sleek, tall menus which also featured the satin bow and buckle on the cover.

Alice’s brother-in-law, Travis performed the MC duties, with fantastic results. Melbourne based DJ Masters provided the music.
In their effort to attend to every detail, Alice and Christopher also underwent dance lessons with Meredith Walsh from A Signature Wedding Dance who taught them the foxtrot and waltz. Spins and dips were incorporated into thier custom dance performed to That’s the way I feel by Lionel Richie.
And last but certainly not least, they hired Boothalicious to set up a photo booth to capture the fun moments of their reception. Here is a fabulous short video they created. I’m sure you’ll agree it is FUN FUN FUN and a wonderful addition or alternative to the traditional wedding video!

Following their wonderful wedding day, the couple relaxed on their honeymoon, venturing to Phuket’s Karon Beach Resort, a trip arranged by their travel consultant, Claire Phillips.
We sincerely thank Alice & Christopher for inviting Black Tie Wedding Invitations to be part of their wedding, and wish them a wonderful and long future together.
